뉴질랜드슬랭에 대해서 공부를 좀 했었는데

구글에서 가져온 내용들을 번역해 보았으나

상당히 모르는 것이 많습니다.

영국에서 전해져서 1919년부터 독자 생산되기

시작한 뉴질랜드의 마마이트는 효모가 주원료이며 만드는 방식도

같음에도 영국 것과는 맛과 성분이 모두 다르다고 한다. 영국도

그렇듯이 뉴질랜드도 동네별로 다른 맥주 맛을 갖고 있기에 각 양조장에서

나오는 효모 맛이나 성분도 다른 것이 아닐까 하고 추측해본다. 뉴질랜드에도

영국처럼 마마이트 팬들이 엄청 많다. 그들은 감기에 걸려도 마마이트,

숙취가 있어도 마마이트를 찾는다.

 

Australian Vegemite
마마이트에 야채추출물을 첨가하는 컨셉으로 개발된 호주의 식품이다. 

1922년이라고 하니, 영국에서 뉴질랜드에 마마이트가 건너가서

독자적으로 생산되기 시작한지 3년만이다. 베지마이트 전에는

뉴질랜드에서 마마이트를 수입하고 있었다. 맛의 차이가 어떤지는

영국 마마이트와 비교한 ... 혹시라도 비교 목적이라도 그 맛을 다시 확인해보고
